Women's volleyball: Peru to fight Venezuela in final battle for Olympic qualification

(BEIJING, January 7) -- Peru defeated Uruguay in straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-15 in a Monday morning match (Beijing time) of the South-American Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament in Lima, Peru.
It was the third consecutive victory for the top-placed Peruvian women, who remain undefeated in the qualification tournament.
Venezuela, another three-match winner, follows close behind Peru in second place, having lost one set in its match against Bolivia. In another match, Paraguay beat Bolivia 3-1 (25-15, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16).
Bolivia has lost all three of its matches so far.
The last round of matches for the South-American Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament will take place Tuesday morning (Beijing time). Peru will battle Venezuela to qualify for the Olympics. Uruguay will play against Bolivia in another match.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Venezuelan men's team will also be battling it out for an Olympic spot, against Argentina, host of the South-American Men's Olympic Qualification Tournament, in the final match of their tournament.
