Summer Olympics News: Medals for first time inlaid with jade

The gold, silver and bronze summer Olympic medals are gorgeous. They are inlaid with jade-a favorite stone of mine!



This marks the first time in the history of the Olympics that more than one metal was allowed to be used in the composition of the Olympic medals.



The use of jade, a metal which makes up an integral part of Chinese culture (no joke look how gorgeous jade jewelry reflects the level of appreciation the Chinese people have for the Olympics and the athletes.
