AFTER a successful year in raising Malaysia's profile in women beach volleyball, Lim Poh Hong is contemplating taking a break from the sport.
The 35-year-old said she has to make a choice between coaching and pursuing a PhD course in Finance at Universiti Putra Malaysia and also lecturing at Tunku Abdul Rahman College.
"It has been really stressful for me for the past few months prior to the Sea Games, juggling between the three jobs," she said.
Asked whether she was reluctant to give coaching, especially when Malaysia have started to make inroads in beach volleyball, she said a choice had to be made.
"It's a hard decision to make, but I really have no choice," said Poh Hong, adding that she had already proposed to the Malaysian Volleyball Association to hire a foreign coach for the team.
Poh Hong, a former national player, took up the job as the national coach early this year and was instrumental in the rise of newly-formed pair, Beh Shun Thing-Luk Teck Hua.
Under Poh Hong, the duo got a top eight finish in their first international appearance, the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship in Thailand in April.
