The Team Fubar Blog Has Great Pictures Of Angie Akers and Tyra Turner Celebrating Their 5th Place FIVB World Championships Finish

In their first world championshps playing together they finished a very respectable fifth place in the FIVB Beach World Championships in Stavanger, Norway.

April Ross MVP: Ross and Jen Kessy Are New FIVB Pro Beach Volleyball World Champions

Just to win that match at any time is so amazing, and we won it in the World Championship match,” Kessy said. 

“This was our goal from the beginning of the season was to win World Champs. We didn’t make to the Olympics last year by a slim margin and this was our goal this year.”

To get to the finals, April Ross and Jen Kessy (formerly Jen Boss) defeated Brazil's Shelde Bede and Ana Paula Connelly, 2-1 in Saturday's semifinal which lasted 73 minutes.

Beijing Olympic Volleyball Champions and gold medalists Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser have decided to forfeit their match against New Zealand primarily to protest the new FIVB Bonus Pool money rule which Todd says will force northern hemisphere players to make a choice between playing on their national tours or playing solely on the FIVB tour.

"I think I'm a really good athlete, but in beach volleyball I feel like a baby," she said. "I'm trying to play catch-up. I learn so much every day; give me two or three years and I feel like I'll be there."

Ashley Ivy is playing in Stavanger in the SWATCH FIVB Pro Beach Volleyball World Championships. she has done her best. Now she learns to forget the rest.
