Brazil's Adriana Behar-The next step

Rio de Janeiro, February 15, 2008 - Seven-time World Beach Volleyball Tour champion and Sydney and Athens Olympic silver medalist Adriana Behar has only just left the court for the final time but is already thinking about getting back into Volleyball.

Adriana, who retired last weekend after collecting titles alongside Brazil teammate Shelda for 12 years, now wants to work with a child development project centered around the sport.

This coming Saturday, February 16, Adriana will learn more about the Brazilian project "Viva Vôlei Solidário" ("Live Solidarity Volleyball"). Adriana will take part in the opening of the 96º center in Rio de Janeiro and will receive a tribute for all of her achievements in her illustrious career.

Viva Vôlei Solidário is a social project, organized by the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation and Instituto Percepções de Responsabilidade Social (The Institute of Perceptions and Social Responsibilities). The aim is the socialization of boys and girls from 7 to 14 years old through sport.

The new center offers 350 openings for children and teenagers, including those with some kind of disability. Lessons will be offered for one year and registration is free of charge.
